So you want to show your dog, but you don't know how to find the shows? Here's how.
AKC ShowsThe American Kennel Club's internet address (URL) is http://www.akc.org From their front page on the web site locate the button titled "Events" and click on it.
When the Events page opens up look for and select the Event and Awards Search link. (Sample Below)
You will then see the search engine to use to look for shows you might like to attend. Below is a non-working screen shot from the AKC page. Event and Awards Search
Who's in charge? Each show will have a Show Secretary or Superintendent who is responsible for sending out premiums which contain the entry form and for receiving and keeping track of the entries. This is who you will contact to get on their mailing list for future shows they may be handling. You may have to contact several in order to be sure that you will receive a premium notice for all the clubs in your area, especially if you are willing to travel any distance to shows.
UKC ShowsThe United Kennel Club's internet address (URL) is http://www.ukcdogs.com. From their front page on the web site "mouse-over" and click on Dog Events.
When the Dog Events page opens up, select and click on the "Upcoming Events" link.
Once there, this page will offer you a listing of Event types.
Click on "Events" if you are looking for a listing of Conformation or Breed shows. The UKC calendar of events is listed by dates, then location. Scroll down the page to view what shows are being held on that date around the country.
